ShanPu Family
The ShanPu family arrived in Louisville on Octobr 21st, 2009. The family, which our church is co-sponsoring with Kentucky Refugee Ministries, is residing at Willowbrook Apartments in Louisville. Along with a large population of Karen families, the ShanPu family is attending Crescent Hill Baptist Church.

ShanPu was born in 1971 in Burma. he and his wife, LarGay, have three sons and two daughters. The family is Karen Burmese and they are Christians. LarGay was born November 8, 1970 in Burma. Their sons are Saw Moo Taw Taw, born November 30, 1991; Taw Taw Htoo, born January 1, 2001; and Hla Eh soe, born April 27, 2005. The daughters are Naw Eh Kmwe Htoo, born January 11, 1998, and Beh Wah Paw, born August 5, 2008.

ShanPus is enrolled in ESL classes at Kentucky Refugee Ministries as well as cultural orientation classes. After learning English for three months, KRM will assist him in finding employment.

LarGay will be enrolled in ESL as soon as the special needs child can be enrolled in school.

The oldest two children are attending a special school for refugee children at Shawnee High School.

The family has adjusted well and appreciates all the help and support given by First Baptist Church.
